Thoughts on being a Player

Thoughts about being a TTRPG player for the first time in years (usually a GM):
* I catch myself playing the “GM’s Pet” in the sense I want to enable their story however I may.
* I try my best to not slow down combat, trying to have all my ducks in a row. As a Wizard, I need to know my spells and to have an idea of what I’m doing when it’s my turn.
* I tried an accent for a while, but soon lost it. I think the character doesn’t go with that accent but I’m still trying to figure out who the character is and what motivates him.
* I delight in things like the Chef background, making cookies and dinner for my party. This completely goes against the idea of min-maxing since I probably should’ve taken some wizardly feat or just went for INT upgrade.
* I definitely feel like I have to make it to game because folks are kind of depending on my character to fill a niche.
